20 ARTISTS' STALLS.

No Vacancy Art Gallery is hosting a unique and inspiring collection of local artists for the inaugural No Vacancy Art Market. Twenty stalls presenting emerging and established local talent will pop-up in the Gallery’s inner-city space at QV over four weeks. Illustrators, artists, jewellers, designers, animators, rare booksellers and an eclectic mix of hand-picked others will come together to showcase their wares and offer a rare opportunity to collect original work. Come and join us from Friday 24 April to take advantage of late trading hours and the opportunity to gain an insight into the artists’ methods and pick up affordable gems by local artists.

STALL PROFILES:

 

Jeremy Ley is a freelance illustrator/storyboard artists. His work appears in magazines, children books, commercials, films and on womens tights
Skulk Grew up on 2000AD comics and street art in South Africa. He uses characters to explore current urban themes, aswell as near future scenarios both plausible and Surreal


Poets and thieves provide a range of fine and collectable books with an emphasis on quality literature and art books.
Malicious: A fusion of comic, tat and jux influences that creates an odd yet atheistically pleasing trip down the wild, weird and sometimes dark recesses of one messed up individuals mind. There’s also cars and babes.

 

Lazer Fist: The Fist was born in Early 2006 and is a concept which can be translated easily through all types of media, from a simple fist stencil or sticker to a full length character animated feature.
Skateboards, t-shirts and walls are the canvas of choice for now, but vinyl toys and large installation exhibits will be happening along the way.

Dani M: Each range is a reflection of dani m herself. Often designing and making things she wants to wear (with the hope that someone else will too) her back catalogue can trace where dani was at that
point in time and also tracks her development and interest in different materials and techniques.
Cat MacInnes: Cat completed an Honours degree in Graphic Design at Swinburne University, and spent one semester studying Fine Art and Illustration at Hong-ik University in Seoul, South Korea. After working for the odd design studio she decided to establish her own illustration & design business.

 

TeenWork is a collective of bright, talented young go-getters gearing up for a life of financial insecurity and self-doubt. Handmade books, limited edition zines, little artworks, prints, postcards and more. 
Neisha Smith: is a graduate of Massey University Bachelor of design in Wellington, New Zealand who has relocated to Melbourne.

Her Designs stem from conceptualise ideas with an emphasis on structural design, silhouette and tailoring. Her Fabrics of choice include luscious natural fibres in earthy tones and recycled leather.

Cserpent Art:Brooches, each printed with original Cserpent Art Illustrations, made on a “Shrink Film” which is a type of plastic that is shrunk down to make a cute little piece of wearable art.
