GOLD by Sydney-based photographic artist Stuart Miller is a series that considers the tangled relationship between the rawness of humanity and the excess of the manufactured world.

A multifaceted exhibition, Gold presents large scale images in both portraiture and still life.

Using gold as a visual representation that literally smothers the human form, the works explore the constant misrepresentation and trickery that occurs on a daily basis and influences our views.
The everyday smothering of who is beautiful, what to consume and what should be considered valuable, convinces people who in this world has privilege, who holds power and who does not.

Repeatedly confronted with the alluring gold, we become exhausted, occasionally satisfied and always vulnerable.
