Kathleen Harvey constructs video work through a painterly gaze. Through the utilization of an unconventional colour palette and the duality of abstraction and realism. Concerned by tensions, within nature and built environments her work intend to access points in which to experience altered states of perception.
The 3 channel video work is a performative, durational piece that documents its protagonist’s engagement within various locations through suburban and rural victoria.
We observe the skittish inspection, organization and redistribution of the character’s local biosphere.
