Ema Hewitt, HEW

Graduating from RMIT University, Ema Hewitt moved to Los Angeles in 2011 where an internship at ‘Mad Men’ introduced her to the decadent world of Hollywood periodical costume. Returning to Melbourne, Ema continued working in Television, costume designing for a variety of shows. Lack of bold prints in menswear pieces became increasingly evident to Ema during this time, as she struggled to find fun printed mens shirts.

In 2014, Ema left the costume design industry to start her own menswear label HEW. What sets HEW apart from other labels is its collaborative design process that invites local artists to curate the aesthetics of the textiles. An independent label, HEW collaborates with local artists in Melbourne and produces a range of their products locally.

Charlotte Alldis, Artist

Charlotte Alldis is a Naarm (Melbourne) based artist, with a psychology and art therapy education. Charlottes works have a sense of buoyancy, built upon layered vibrant worlds that embrace chaos and hope. grinning figures raise outstretched hands to the heavens and to each other. Charlottes work oozes technicolour carpets of flowers, drops, figures and bulbs. Charlottes works are playful and intuitive, oozing with colour and wriggling figures that float across their landscapes. Intuition reigns. Charlotte seeks to invite you to play, to invite you into her world and dive deep into another time and place.
